OK - then I take one step back.
Next question: Did they use isotopes (which ones? It sounds important to
sort this out - what kind of examinations or other practices were
performed?) in quantities of relevance for radiation protection (over all
context here)?
If not, there may still be concern because there is always a risk that the
media gives it larger attention than it deserves.
A sample that is smashed could probably give some few individuals either an
external dose or a dose due to inhalation.
