Maybe they need to do some modifications to all plane.  How about an airlock door like we have for secondary containment.  Inside the airlock a camera so that the pilots can see who is attempting access.  The only way the door can be opened into the cockpit would be the pilot.  If it is a terrorist the door could be locked to prevent the terrorist from escaping out of the airlock.  Therefore holding them as a prisoner.  If they are going to permit carry on baggage then maybe it should be in a locked cabinet.  

Just my opinion.

	Can someone explain why, instead of all the extreme measures with

air travel and closing Washington National Airport, they don't simply

require that cockpit doors be locked and perhaps someone in the cockpit

have a gun? Wouldn't this do all that is required?
