RE: Seeking reference materials on Pu, U, and Th

Peter,

I was invited to two "Plutonium in the Environments" symposiums in 1994 and

1999. Many papers are involved in Pu and U [large] surface contaminations

(i.e., land and ocean), measurements and monitoring methods and techniques.

They could be interested to you. The proceedings are:

(1) Applied Radiation and Isotopes, Vol. 46 No. 11, Nov 1995.

(2) Radioactive in the Environment, Volume 1, Editor M.S. Baxter, Elsevier,

2001.

Good luck,

Casper

Subject: Seeking reference materials on Pu, U, and Th

I'm interested in finding a reference that discusses how Pu, U, and Th

surface contamination behaves in the environment. Specifically, I'm

interested in why Pu and Th are much more mobile than U.

Thanks,

Pete Darnell
