I have been dealing with radioactivity in drinking water for many years. We

have no problem with Pu in Austria, because the amounts deposited on our

soil due to the atmospheric explosions is much to low to be found in

drinking water. But it is more than well known, that Th in soil is extremely

insoluble and though uranium is found in many drinking waters, thorium has

been found only in one of the thousands of samples I have measured for

radionuclides.

This does not necessarily refer exactly to the question you put forward, but

might help for a general overview.
