gold-198

Colleagues at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna asked if I

could get some details on radiological exposures to gold-198 and

strontium-85 during the 1960's. Specifically, (1) did these events really

occur? and (2) Were the materials, as reported, in the form of a sealed

source?

Here are the details known: gold-198

1966 Pennsylvania 1 overexposure, 1 fatality

1968 Wisconsin 1 overexposure, 1 fatality

1968 Illinois 1 overexposure, 1 fatality

strontium-85

1969 Wisconsin 1 overexposure

If anyone can help fill in the blanks, please contact me.

thanks
