Position Announcement



Mallinckrodt, Inc., a division of Tyco Healthcare and a leading manufacturer

and distributor of radiopharmaceuticals, has an immediate opening for a

Health Physicist at it's facility in Maryland Heights, Missouri (a suburb of

St. Louis). This position will be responsible for all facets of operational

health physics.



Typical duties include: Develop and maintain the radiation safety program in

the area of responsibility, conduct process and area audits, assist in the

design of new facilities and equipment modifications, perform shielding

calculations by hand or using MicroshieldŽ, become a key member of the

Emergency Response Team, review radiation, contamination, and air sampling

surveys, provide Health Physics training to varied audiences, plan and

coordinate Health Physics coverage of maintenance evolutions, perform

incident investigations and propose corrective actions, and direct HP

activities for support of production.



Qualifications (education, experience, special skills) include:



* B.S. Degree in Health Physics or closely related field (M.S. preferred)

* Certified Health Physicist preferred

* 3 years applied Health Physics experience preferred

* Working knowledge of applicable regulations

* Project management experience a plus

* Exceptional computer skills, VAX/VMS experience a plus

* Available for overtime, scheduled returns and emergencies

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Experience with MicroshieldŽ a plus
