FACULTY POSITION IN NUCLEAR AND RADIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING;
The Nuclear & Radiological Engineering Program at the University of
Cincinnati invites applications for at least one
tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Nuclear
Engineering. Initial screening of applicants will begin on
November 26, 2001 and continue until the position is
filled.
With a commitment to a university-wide effort to expand and encourage
interdisciplinary research and teaching, the UCNRE Program seeks
candidates with research and teaching interests in radiological and
nuclear engineering that include one or more of the following
areas: (1) Experimental Radiation Measurements (including radiation
detector development, innovative radiation detector applications and the
development of remote sensing systems), (2) Radiological
Engineering (including transport in environmental media, environmental
radiation measurements, environmental remediation and radiation
protection engineering), (3) Applied Reactor Analysis (including
advanced reactor systems, core neutronics, radiation transport, fission
product behavior, nuclear fuel management and the analysis of reactor
system signals), (4) Biomedical Engineering (including medical
imaging, dosimetry, and diagnostic and therapeutic radiation
applications). Candidates with backgrounds in related areas are also
encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in engineering and an earned
doctorate in nuclear engineering or a closely related field.
Demonstrated research accomplishments that indicate the ability to
develop and direct sponsored research is essential. Candidates
should be committed to both supervising graduate students and teaching
undergraduate and graduate engineering courses at both the Departmental
