BWC HPS to Meet at new location

Because of unforeseen circumstances, the October 18 meeting of the Baltimore

Washington Chapter of the has been moved the Uniformed Services Medical

School.

Directions and a map are attached.  As noted below, the cost and agenda

remain

the same:



Cost:

Members:  $17.00

Nonmembers:   $20.00

Date:  October 18, 2001



Agenda:

Social Hour:  6:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Dinner:   7:00 to 7:45 P.M.

Speaker:  7:45 to 8:45 P.M.



Security remains a significant consideration.  To get into the dining room

you

will have to pass through security check points at the entrance to the Naval

base and at the entrance to the Medical School Building.  To ease this

process

of getting through these check points please as well as permitting us to

plan

properly for the meeting we need the following information by noon Monday

(10/15)

          The make of car you will be driving to the meeting

          Whether or not you are a US Citizen

          Those who have already made reservations, if you still plan to

attend.

          Whether you want a meat or fish entree (the new menu has not yet

been

finalized)



Also it will probably be helpful to bring a form of identification with a

picture.



I hope that these inconvenience will not prevent the chapter from having a

successful series of meeting this year.

>From Downtown Washington, DC:

Take Wisconsin Avenue north to Bethesda. Make a right onto Jones Bridge

Road, which is directly across the street from the National Library of

Medicine/NIH and just before the National Naval Medical Center. Go to the

first traffic light and make a left onto Gunnel Road into the Naval Hospital

grounds. Go to the next stop sign and make a right onto Stokes Road.

Continue past the bowling alley on your right and the Officers' Club on your

left. At the stop sign, turn right onto Palmer Road. Continue through the

next stop sign (4 way stop) on Palmer Road. The University will be on your

left. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE UNIVERSITY BEFORE 9:00AM OR AFTER 6:00PM -

YOU MAY BE TICKETED! Continue on Palmer Road to the next stop sign. Turn

left and continue under the University into the parking garage.



>From I-495 Virginia:

Take 495 towards Rockville. At the I-270/I-495 split, stay to the right on

I-495. Take the exit for Rt. 355-Wisconsin Avenue-Bethesda. Go to the fifth

traffic light and make a left onto Jones Bridge Road. Go to the first

traffic light and make a left onto Gunnel Road into the Naval Hospital

grounds. Go to the next stop sign and make a right onto Stokes Road.

Continue past the bowling alley on your right and the Officers' Club on your

left. At the stop sign and make a right onto Palmer Road. Continue through

the next stop sign (4 way stop) on Palmer Road. The University will be on

the left. DO NOT PARK IN

Continue on Palmer Road to the next stop sign. Turn left and continue under

>From I-495 P.G. County/Baltimore:

Take 495 towards Silver Spring. Exit at Connecticut Avenue-Chevy Chase. At

the bottom of the exit, turn left onto Connecticut Avenue. Go to the second

traffic light, which is Jones Bridge Road, and make a right. Go up Jones

Bridge Road to the third traffic light. Make a right onto Gunnel Road into

the Naval Hospital grounds. Go the next stop sign and make a right onto

Stokes Road. Continue past bowling alley on your right and Officers' Club on

your left. At the stop sign, turn right onto Palmer Road. Continue through

the next stop sign (4 way stop) on Palmer Road. The University will be on

your left. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE UNIVERSITY BEFORE 9:00AM OR AFTER

6:00PM - YOU MAY BE TICKETED! Continue on Palmer Road to the next stop sign.

Turn left and continue under the University into the parking garage



>From I-270:

Take I-270 south. Stay to the left at the split, observe HOV restrictions

during rush hour. Exit at Rt. 355-Wisconsin Avenue-Bethesda (left lane

exit). Go to the fifth traffic light and make a left onto Jones Bridge Road.

Go up Jones Bridge Road to the third traffic light. Make a right onto Gunnel

Road into the Naval Hospital grounds. Go the next stop sign and make a right

onto Stokes Road. Continue past bowling alley on your right and Officers'
