"Modesty" Clothing

Becky,

In response to your Radsafe post on 'modesty" clothing, we used them at

Rocky Flats (and here at Y-12).

Here are my answers from my Rocky Flats time:

1a. We wore either cotton/poly surgical scrubs or all-cotton overalls under

the yellow anti-Cs.

2. The modesty clothes were never used as protective clothing; they were

only used under the anti-Cs (single anti-Cs in CAs and doubles in HCAs.)

3a. The modesty clothes were not removed at the SOP.

3b. The worker wore his/her modesty clothes through the PCM (PCM 2 at RF),

or did a whole-body frisk if no PCM was available.

4. The modesty clothes were not issued to the worker. At the end of each

day (pretty much) they are dumped into a laundry bin in the locker room for

laundering later.

5. Some cotton/poly and some all-cotton. At RF we had problems with the

cotton/poly blends on high radon days. A trip through the PCM might find

you stripping for an RCT to survey you.

6.	Short-sleeved scrubs, long-sleeved (or amputated) coveralls. No

matter.

Hope it helps.
