Jerry, I agree with your comments. Your statement above, regarding radiation safety 

work, is the crux of the problem. When the term safety is ingrained into the occupation, 

the bottom line is the correlation of radiation and un-safe. They go hand in hand. The 

implication is that radiation and safety are not equal, and, there is no level where safety 

is implied. It's too bad that our profession wasn't coined another name when developed. 

Of course, decades ago, radiation was unknown, and considered to be entirely unsafe. 

Others have just carried on and fostered that belief even further.
