I am pleased that you understand the limitations of ecologic studies 

and now understand that the ecologic approach has the little validity 

for assessing risk.  It may be worth looking at established 

epidemiologic criteria for causality.  These again can be found in an 

introductory epidemiology book.



By the way, I emailed Dr. Field and he stated he never made the 

comments you attributed to him.
