The point, of course, is that hormesis enhances repair or elimination, not

just of the cells damaged by radiation, but also of the much, much greater

number of cells damaged by routine metabolism.  That's what the LNT

advocates avoid talking about.  It's not just that hormesis reduces the

number of residual mutants caused by radiation; it actually (as demonstrated

repeatedly in the lab) reduces the overall number of persistent mutations.
