I swear I would not post anything on this topic...
I swear I would not post anything on this topic...
but... I am going through my RADSAFE December-January mail today to learn
about fresh HP topics. after going through a amazing volume of bashing, I am
re-assured that some radsafers still have a sense of "balance" in the way to
response to anti-nuke point of views. It seems that they are a silent
majority (I hope !) but they exist.I copied the best summary below (Thank
you Sandy)
This list is about science and I am extremely surprised and troubled to see
that a "PhD" suggested (even as a joke ?...humor is a strange creature) to
"shoot" someone !
If I was an anti-nuke, I would jump on that post and spread it...
This escalation of distasteful posts should serve as a lesson: The human
being is the same, everywhere. When you are too close from a tree, take a
couple of steps away to clearly view and appreciate the forest. When I
realize that scientists (read here, highly educated people) are falling in
the trap of personnal attacks via a public maling list, I start to
understand a bit why this world may turn so wrong.
I am thanking all the other radsafers for their posts on X-ray,RTG power,
cancer data, LNT and many more. This is the type of info I am seeking via
this list. I don't want to know if you can use your E-mail filters.
Sorry, I will not do it again...or I hope ...
I wish I had a better English vocabulary to express my disappointment. I
promise I can do better in French :-)
Please send any response directly to me, I can take the heat.
My opinions.

Subject: Norm Cohen bashing - brings out the infantile nature in our
"professionals"
Enough of the Norm Cohen bashing! I'd rather read Norm's postings than the
multitude of the anti-Norm posts of late, calling for "shoot Norm", etc. How
childish!!!
If you don't want to read Norm's posts, filter them, or delete them. Please
stop
sending Radsafe a chronology of what you are doing. I don't care, and most
don't
care. However, you're clogging the bandwidth.
Final thought ... If this is how professional health physicists respond to
the anti's, be it
in a forum, or in a personal debate, no wonder the anti's have so much
fodder to
attack us. Analogy .. it's my ball and if I can't have it, I'm taking it
with me. CHILDISH!
