Chart of the Nuclides

The Chart of the Nuclides is a widely used reference source on the nuclear

characteristics of atomic elements and their isotopes. The Chart has been

compiled, edited and periodically revised by Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory

scientists since 1956.

The Chart presents a plot of all known elements and radioactive nuclides.

The nuclides are arranged with atomic number Z (number of protons) along the

vertical axis and neutron number N along the horizontal axis.

Each horizontal row on the Chart represents one element; entries along that

row show all of the isotopes of that element. Data presented for each

nuclide include atomic mass, relative abundance, half-life and modes of

decay, as well as a variety of other nuclear properties.

The Chart is available as a 32" x 54" single sheet or a bound 65-page

booklet containing both the Chart and explanatory information. It can be

ordered at a cost of $25 at the address below. Student discounts and

quantity discounts are available.

The Chart of the Nuclides is distributed by the Lockheed Martin Distribution

Services.
