The general description of the position follows: Performs advanced health
physics (radiological health) work to evaluate proposed equipment,
facilities, procedures and personnel for adequacy to minimize danger to
public health and safety or the environment for medical and academic uses of
radioactive material. Work involves planning and developing radiation
control projects; and coordinating special environmental projects in areas
of health physics (radiological health). May plan, assign, and/or supervise
the work of others. Works under minimal supervision with considerable
latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
