Dental X-Ray Shielding Requirements

Does anyone know of any regulatory requirements for shielding x-ray rooms

that use only intraoral dental x-ray systems?  I know these regulations vary

from state to state but have any studies been done that demonstrate the need

for shielding these rooms.  Further, is anyone familiar with civilian dental

x-ray installations - do they use shielding in their walls??
