21st International TLD Dosimetry Symposium
"Addressing Unprecedented Dosimetry Changes Through Innovation and
Collaboration"
Dosimetry has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. This year, the
21st
International TLD Symposium (sponsored by Panasonic) will address topics
and
feature interactive sessions for the dosimetry community to help each other
dealing with rapid changes. Meeting dates and location are set as follows:
Dates: Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7, 2002
Location: The Cavalier Hotel at Virginia Beach, VA
The symposium has always been a perfect opportunity to meet and network
with
your peers from the " Dosimetry Community". This year we are making a
special effort to encourage active participation by everyone with an
interest in external radiation dosimetry ? program managers, dosimetry
technicians, regulatory and accreditation agency representatives,
administrative and scientific support personnel, manufacturers and vendors,
and end users/customers of dosimetry service providers. To accomplish this
we have redesigned the format and content from that used in previous years.
Some of the new features will include:
(1) Topics of sessions and presentations are expanded to attract a
broader
audience. Participants will learn of current developments on topics of
general interests in the main (plenary) sessions and will be encouraged to
share and exchange information personal experiences through interactive
breakout sessions.
(2) Hands-on training will be offered to help professionals accomplish
day-to-day assignments more efficiently in the rapidly changing
environment.
(3) Program managers, technicians, QA/QC personnel, administrative
support
staff, manufacturers and vendors, regulatory and accreditation agencies,
and
end users receiving dosimetry services can each find specially targeted and
customized sessions to attend.
(4) The registration fee has been slashed down to only $49.
(5) A special full-day training session (boot camp) will be brought back
this year for new entrants to learn all the TLD basics as well as to serve
as a refresher course for veteran professionals.
