Magnetic fields in cars

The debate about magnetic fields in cars is still ongoing here in Sweden. 

People wonder about whether measurements have been made in the backseat or 

trunk areas ("can our dog be there safely?" etc).



Has any of this debate reached any other country to mentionable extent?
