The Radiation Safety Journal
May 2002, Volume 82, Number 5

37th Annual Meeting of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements:  Fallout from Atmospheric Nuclear Tests-Impact on Science and Society

On the cover:  A gummed-film sampler on the rooftop of the USAEC Health and Safety Laboratory (now the USDOE Environmental Measurements Laboratory) in New York City.  During the 1950's, the Laboratory operated a network ranging between 100 and 250 of these samplers in the U.S. and other countries to monitor fallout from nuclear weapon tests.  See article by Kevin M. Miller and Richard J. Larsen on page 609 for more information.
