Environmental Safety Assistant Manager (NOV#020826)



The position reports to the Radiological Safety Officer and generally requires a bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Seven years progressive experience in occupational safety and health. Application/Resume Referral. 45,900-51,000/yr. Starting salaries for positions may be negotiable based on qualifications and experience.



The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of the radiation safety program at TAMU.  A partial list of duties includes: 



-performing radiation safety evaluations for new users of radioactive materials, radiation-producing devices and/or lasers; 

-assisting in the preparation of licensing-related documents to be submitted to state agencies; 

-ensuring compliance of the TAMU radiation safety program with state and federal regulations; 

-performing inspections of TAMU permittees; 

-assisting/directing radioactive materials receipt, delivery, and waste pick-up activities; 

-acting as the on-call duty health physicist; 

-providing radiation safety training to TAMU employees; 

-supervising Environmental Safety Technicians and/or student workers.
