RE: [Fwd: Comment on Editorial/Op-Ed]
I found it somewhat interesting that in one-fifth as many train shipments
that there would be 3-1/2 times as many accidents. Maybe Nevada's just
planning to block the rails the way SC wants to block the highway.

Hi John and others,
Thanks loads for posting that editorial from the NYTimes. What a
pleasant surprise! Because I'm so ready to complain to the media, it
seemed appropriate to also respond to this one. I thought the editorial
was well done.
Thanks again, John, for posting it. Gee, maybe the talking chicken is
the real marvel after all rather than the falling sky! (VBG)
Cheers,
Maury

Re: Nuclear Waste on the Highways dated April 21, 2002.
Dear Editor;
Please accept my gratitude for publishing the above item. I appreciate
the fact that it expressed an opinion which then was substantiated by a
few pertinent facts to support the opinion. Yet, at the same time you
presented a fair synopsis of the opposing views and especially the
reasons for them. I am biased - I think nuclear power has been receiving
a "bum rap" for decades from the government and the media not to mention
the vocal anti-nuclear zealots among us.
Thanks very much for your treatment of the myths surrounding the
so-called dangers of spent fuel transportation.
Sincerely,
Maury Siskel
