The following civil lawsuit did in fact happen. The jury, completely duped, awarded the psychic $800,000. An appeals court judge threw out the award and vacated the jury verdict for lack of objective evidence. The appeals court ruling was upheld. The Wall Street Journal frequently cites this farce in its ongoing campaign against the excesses of trial lawyers.

Some psychic! She couldn't even foresee the loss of her own 'powers'. Her clientele should have sued her for fraud.
