In case you don't already know, this is a deliberate tactic by the antis, designed to convince those fire captains etc. to declare that since they can't handle any situation involving radiological hazards, the hazard risk must be eliminated.... ban any radioactive hazmat shipments.... block use of anything nuclear.... etc, etc. (the usual goals), and of course forget about any training courses....
This leads to some pretty ridiculous situations where, for example, the Montreal Urban Community and the city councils of more than 100 Quebec and Ontario municipalities passed resolutions against such shipments, yet these cities continue on merrily using radiopharmaceuticals in their hospitals. Isn't politics amazing ?
