RE: 15 year old does model of nuke waste accident



Read it before this. 



 It is a typical student exercise, well-meant, but fatally flawed.  As near

as I can figure, the calculation assumes 100% release from less of a

challenge than the waste casks have already been tested to with no release.

Also, 100% is unreasonable even postulating a breach.



I suspect an inflated biological risk was also used in the estimate.



The actual cleanup I would expect from the postulated accident is:

Backhoe and crane used to remove debris from over the cask, then undamaged

cask is loaded on another truck and continues to its destination.



I attempted to contact the school (as a private citizen expressing my

opinion) and was not able to do so.
