Re: chirper

Now you really have me confused.  In your previous messages, you were trying to save a few $$ on a chirper versus an alarming ratemeter.  Now, you want a "smart monitor" on the camera.  Talk about big $$$.  In addition, this would only marginally increase safety, even IF properly maintained, since a radiographer who ignores or forgets his survey meter is also likely to ignore the camera monitor.

The opinions expressed are strictly mine.
It's not about dose, it's about trust.

What I would like to see is a built-in monitor on the camera that monitored the source activity all the time and displayed a green light when the source was in the fully shielded position.  It would display a yellow light when the source was exposed fully and a yellow light when the source was in any transition position.  It could be done easily with a smart monitor that monitored the source activity all the time.  This, with a chirper on the radiographer, would give much better control than we have now.
