Senate Votes YES for Yucca Mountain

The Yucca Mountain waste site was approved by the Senate. The House passed
it in May. Now it goes to the courts. It will probably open in 2010.
The 60-39 roll call by which the Senate voted to send spent fuel rods to
Yucca Mountain in the Nevada desert. On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote
to send the radioactive waste to Nevada and a "no" vote was a vote to
prevent. Voting "yes" were 15 Democrats and 45 Republicans. Voting "no"
were 35 Democrats, 3 Republicans and one independent. You can see what your
