RE: Recommendation for new format

Looks like the same format used by roadwhore.com, which because of its

"active" format, i.e., since I have to make the effort to go look at it when

most of it doesn't apply to me, I only read it on occasion. If it came by

e-mail the way RadSafe does, I'd follow what was going on there. I'll check

e-mail regardless (especially since I encourage it over phone calls), and at

work it's always on anyway. IMO, participation in RadSafe would drop

significantly, i.e., the difference between active and passive pursuit.

Subject: Recommendation for new format

I'd like to poll the radsafers on their thoughts about interest in a new

look and feel to this popular list. Listservers are OLD technology and

have many drawbacks (in my opinion) that are easily avoidable. I'd like to

suggest that the sponsor for radsafe consider switching to a discussion

board format that is web-based. For an example, see the discussion board

of my local bass fishing club (

http://fishonbassclub.com/FOBA/wwwboard/wwwboard.html). I believe that

this would have the following advantages: you can following the board even

when on travel or at home since it's not tied to a particular email

address; no subscribing or unsubscribing; you don't get inundated with

huge amounts of email or long digests that are hard to follow; threads are

self organized so you can easily pick and choose which ones to follow (or

not); most discussion board software allow for inclusion of html code to

allow for hotlinks and even pictures. I would prefer this format and

wondered how you would feel?
