Information About The Job:

   DUTIES:  This position is responsible for managing the departments'

radiation services program. This program exists under an agreement with

the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The purpose of the program

is to oversee all users of radioactive materials in the state of

Colorado, including medical, industrial, and uranium mills to insure

compliance with state regulations, statutes and NRC guidelines. This

position is responsible for the management of the budget, staff and work

performed by the program.    



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Graduation from an accredited college or

university with a bachelor's degree (minimum)  in chemistry, biology,

physics or a closely related field and five years of progressively

responsible professional experience in the field of radiation

protection. The ability to supervise the work of others, manage a

program and establish & maintain  effective working relationships with

the public and stakeholder groups will be evaluated in the examination

process.   SUBSTITUTIONS:  Experience of the type and nature listed in

the duties above may be substituted for the required education on a

year-for-year basis.
