But it is not tracked. The registration number is for accounting purposes
incase it is lost and you want to make a claim.  There is no bar coding and
computer entry.   The only thing different is that someone has to sign for
it and you get a postcard back.  Do you actually think they take special
care of it during transit?

If you were to send it as Registered Mail, it would then travel under lock
and key, as well as being tracked
