So you openly declare, that the Allies (= the US troops) would have breached

against international law by using poisonous gases? Not even the Nazi-regime

has used them during WW II !!!! This is a slap into the face of your nation,

which critizises correctly the use of poisonous gases by Saddam Hussein

against Kurds. So you put the Allies on the same level as Saddam Hussein? Or

are you supporting his politics against the Kurds?



It is unbelievable, how far some people go to defend previous actions of

their politicians and military, if they are criticised.







I have never heard of the intention to use poisonous gasses.  But I think this thread and the point in general is moot.  How many people died when the Allies fired bombed Tokyo?  How many people died when the Allies fire bombed cities in Germany.  How many people have suffered the after effects of said bombings.  I hear breathing in smoke, and who knows what chemicals from the factories, for days on end is really good for you, then and years later.  How many studies have ever been conducted to see how the survivors of fire bombings faired?



No one ever seams to remember the fire bombings.  The British did after the war, and shamed the British General responsible for the fire bombings into submission.  The US promoted General Leslie Lemay (the US counterpart) to the head of the Air Force Strategic Air Command.



I guess my point is, if you are killed by one bomb, or killed by thousands, your still dead and who cares how you were killed.  It is still a tragedy that it had come to war to settle problems.  People get so wrapped up in the buzz word of nuclear, that they cannot see the forest for the trees.  Instead of trying to prevent another nuclear bomb being dropped why not try to prevent another war, anywhere.



Just my skewed view.
