2003 NukeWorker Convention Update!
Greetings!
There has been great interest in the 2003 NukeWorker convention. The
proposed dates are August 16th and 17th 2003 at the Minneapolis Convention
Center. There will be booth space for vendors (We already have some lined
up).
There will also be classes available if enough interest is shown. William E.
Blum, Managing Director of NDT Consulting Group, Inc has offered to present
a paper on nondestructive testing. As well as holding a training course that
has been developed to increase the participant’s knowledge of the NDT
technique and satisfy the requirements of ANSI/ASNT CP-189. Possible
courses include: the surface methods, PT, MT, and VT which require twenty
hours for certification to Level II.
P. W. Hoppe of 3rd Planet Technologies, Ltd. has offered to give a
presentation on “Ultimate Solution™” Chemical Decontamination Process. And
Professor John Cameron, from the UW-Madison Depts. of Medical Physics,
Radiology and Physics has offered to present a paper on "Is radiation an
essential trace energy?"
There are many others, but I thought those three gave a good representation
of the wide variety of speakers we are lining up. More are needed, and all
are invited.
There will be an award ceremony at the end of the conference; some of the
awards include ‘Recruiter of the Year’ and ‘Major Contributors to the
NukeWorker website’. There will also be a prize given to ‘Best Outage
Shirt’, so dig up those old threads and bring them with you.
There will be door prizes and other fun events to participate in. (All
suggestions are encouraged and will be evaluated)
