Tend rate?

We have a gamma camera the uses a Cobalt-57 flood source for calibrations.

It is beginning to near the time to replace the source. The tech says to

keep the source depending on the "tend rate". I am unfamiliar with this

terminology and was wondering what exactly that is. Any help out there.
