Re: DU Story

Dear Norm,

One of the strange things that has always struck me about the Du and Iraq issue is Kuwait. The latter comprises about 4% of the area of Iraq yet some 50 plus tonnes of Du was used there in the Gulf War, roughly one sixth of the total, and much of the land border of Kuwait is adjacent to the areas in Iraq where most Du was expended. Thus, proportionate to area Kuwait received a far higher burden of Du usage. Indeed, Du was supposedly measured in the air in Kuwait City two years after the conflict ended.

Yet, Kuwait does not appear to be suffering from all the supposed horrendous effects of Du which somehow seem to stop at the Iraq border!!

In peace, Dave
