Safety and Ecology Corporation (SEC) has two professional Operational Health
Physicist positions available in Oak Ridge, TN. These positions will work
hand-in-hand with Radiological Control Technicians and Supervisors.
DUTIES (include):
Provide professional level technical assistance for Special Project
activities on an as-needed basis. Such technical support may include, but is
not limited to, radiation protection and health & safety areas such as
dosimetry, bioassay, instrumentation, program/procedure development, survey
design and performance, dose assessment, regulatory compliance, and data
analysis. Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong general knowledge of radiation protection fundamentals, including
internal and external dosimetry, shielding design, ALARA evaluation,
regulatory requirements, program development, instrumentation, health
effects of radiation, hazard assessment, survey design and implementation,
laboratory analysis and quality assurance. Demonstrated ability to implement
and apply technical knowledge and theory to practical field situations. The
individual may have equivalent knowledge and skills in a technical area
other than radiation protection if that is the primary area that he/she will
provide expertise in.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant technical or applied
activities. An advanced degree (1 year) or relevant certification (2 years)
may be substituted in lieu of experience.
* A BS degree in engineering, science or related field.
* A DOE “L” or “Q” security clearance or the ability to obtain the same, as
required.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Nationally recognized certification preferred (e.g., NRRPT, CHP, CIH).
