Depleted uranium article in Wall St. Jnl.

Jan. 3

	Wall Street Journal, Jan. 2, 2003, p. A-4 (by John J. Fialka).

The article reports that retiring U. S. Rep. David Bonior visited three

Iraqi hospitals after hearing from Iraqi immigrants in Detroit. "This is

real" Bonior insists. Article says Bonior "once helped expose the dangers

of . . . Agent Orange". Bonior says "I have a feeling that we're headed

down the same path." (Yes, we all know how dangerous dioxin is -- all the

millions who died of exposure.)

Fialka writes that Iraqi doctors have complained about leukemia and birth

deformities near Basra, but that isn't where DU was used.

Fialka's article is level-headed and gives short shrift to those claiming

DU is dangerous.
