Betreff: Web question: Should NPP Barseback 2 be shut down?
Right now there is a web poll about the
Swedish NPP Barseback 2 at:
www.dn.se
(DN= Dagens Nyheter, the number one morning newspaper
in Sweden if the free paper "Metro" is excluded)
It has been unusually cold in Sweden over the past ten days
(since two days back much milder however) and the electricity
prices went up strongly...
Translation of the question etc:
"Är det rätt eller fel att stänga en andra kärnkraftsreaktor?"
Is it right or wrong to shut down a second nuclear reactor?
Rätt = Right
Fel = Wrong
Vet inte = Don't know
Rösta = Vote
Ställningen = "Position" to be interpreted as "see the present results"
Only 237 people voted this far - 79 percent of the responders are at this
stage in favor of nuclear power.
--------------------------------------------
I have checked this voting right now: From a total of 10 619 responders 17%
said "right", 79% said "wrong" and 4% had no opinion.
More differentiated is a poll in the Newspaper "Aftonbladet" ("Evening
paper"). The answers to the question, whether Barsebäck 2 should be closed,
the answers are distributed as follows (44 854 responds):
Yes, immediately 6.6%
Yes, but slowly 11.9%
No, keep it as it is 31.1%
No, expand nuclear power 50.5%.
This is about the same distribution as it was this afternoon.
Of course these web polls are of limited value, but still the result is more
than astonishing, when compared with the attitude in middle Europe, where
nuclear power is regarded as the ultimate danger which has to be shut down
at any cost world-wide in order to let mankind survive!
