Rad Engineer Needed for Paducah, Kentucky



Safety and Ecology Corporation (SEC)is in the process if interviewing for a

HP I/Rad Engineer position in West Paducah, Kentucky.



Qualifications Include:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant technical or applied

activities.  An advanced degree (1 year) or relevant certification (2 years)

may be substituted in lieu of experience.

A BS degree in engineering, science or related field.

A DOE “L” or “Q” security clearance or the ability to obtain the same, as

required.



Responsibilities Include:

1.	Evaluating environmental data and comparisons of environmental

radiological data to values established in project CERCLA risk documents for

determination of area classification as an AOC or SWMU.

2.	Performing assessments of subcontractor RADCON plans in accordance with

the requirements of Exhibit G requirements and RADCON program.

3.	Conducting field reviews to verify that subcontractor RADCON plans are

being implemented in accordance with Exhibit G and RADCON program

requirements.

4.	Assisting the review of landfill package data for waste destined for the

on-site disposal cell.

5.	Conducting statistical evaluations of radiological data and prepare

summary reports for review by the PHP and DOE site office HP.

6.	Reviewing all existing Paducah Technical Basis Documents and writing and

issuing any revisions or updates as necessary.  Individual will maintain a

schedule of updates.

7.	Cataloging and serving as a control point for Paducah RADCON project

forms.  This task includes ensuring that forms listed on the site RADCON

directory are current and password protected to prevent inadvertent

modification.

8.	Conducting general data evaluations as requested by individual projects

and supported by the PHP.  This task may require statistical interpretation

and manipulation of the data.

9.	Assist individual projects in the generation of radiological sampling

plans.  This task will include using the MARSSIM-based approach for survey

plans.

10.	Preparing survey and release plans and reports in conjunction with the

Alliance and site SRP requirements.

11.	Assisting the compilation of ALARA information and preparation of

presentations for quarterly ALARA meetings.

12.	Leading the development the gamma spectroscopy program. This task

includes supporting the use of gamma counting for waste characterization,

and providing support to projects for input as to various methods of waste

characterization.

13.	Assisting in procedure writing for project level RADCON procedures.

14.	Assisting with radiological information and data requests by individual

projects and DOE site office.  This task includes the conducting research

using the Internet and hard copy resources and report writing.

15.	Producing technical documents using the common computer applications

(Word, Excel, Access).
