NORM IV Conference – Szczyrk 2004
Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials IV
    The purpose of the Conference is to bring together all scientists, working in all areas related to Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM). This is a multidisciplinary subject, related to nuclear physics, environmental studies, chemistry, hydrogeology and health physics.
    The main objective of the Conference is to enable and promote the exchange of information among scientists and develop future directions in this field.
     Particular emphasis is on the environmental studies in mining areas.
     Participation of young scientists and students is highly encouraged.
        Tentative topics:
- NORMs in the working environment;
- NORMs in coal and ore mines;
- Contamination of the natural environment;
- Mitigation methods;
- Legislative problems;
- NORM problems in CEC

March 2003 – call for papers, e-mail account open for abstract submission, 1st circular
September 2003 – deadline for abstract submission
October  2003 – preliminary programme on web site, 2nd circular
February 2004 – submission of full texts, final programme, 3rd circular
17-21 May 2004 – conference at Szczyrk, Poland
