Re: EPA to look at how toxins affect kids

I guess I have to ask why anyone thinks this is news?

The higher sensitivity of the young to many types of toxins, radiation

included, is covered on about the first day of any introductory

toxicology/radiation effects course. The tooth fairy-tale projects, et al,

haven't discovered any ground-breaking, headline news. This is well known

by people who study these things seriously, including those who set exposure

limits (ever notice how radiation dose limit recommendations are lower for

the public?).

Sounds like another case of trumping up alarming headlines to 'expose' the

uncaring government/nuclear industry/(name your favorite "establishment")/

bad guy. Or maybe the EPA just needs more funding.
