Arsenic is present in the Albuquerque groundwater and drinking water a levels 1.5 to 2 times the EPA standard, nad even higher levels in other parts of the state. There nhas not been any observed adverse health effect from this arsenic. Arsenic ios also present in Seattl]e drinking water.
The "blue haze" that gives the Blue Ridge Mountains their name is made up of natural terpene emissions from the evergreen trees. Terpenes are hardly good for you if inhaled or ingested.
I believe that a number of "acid" New england lakes get their acidity from decaying dead leaves.
