Re: Recommendations for badge handling

For special activities workers should consider specific procedures, example

Industrial radiography in open area, far way from the facility. Not only

considering the badge but also radioactive sources, registers, etc

In usual activities, at fixed installation the best location for workers is

to keep the dosimeter at the facility to avoid discussions in case of

disagreement.

Neill hit the most important factor, that being potentially varying

backgrounds in the

work place compared to where the dosimeter is stored when not in the

radiation work

area. This topic was addressed more than a year ago and you can find the

thread by

searching the radsafe archives, looking for background, personnel dosimetry,

etc.

Bob Flood posted an excellent summary of the issue and consequences if not

implemented properly.
