Workplace Alpha Monitoring

I have an urgent need to define and implement a workplace alpha monitoring

program at a major nuclear power facility in Canada. This program would

include both air samples and smear from areas within the facility and

equipment . I am interested in the methods of sampling and measurements of

samples for gross transuranic activities.

I would like to know the references that would give me a good synopsis of

the options to consider. The method would have to be simple enough that it

could be used in a production environment but still be accurate enough to

account for self-shielding, etc.

I would indeed be appreciative of any assistance you can provide me, whether

it relates to providing a reference or advice on the best method to use.

Replies can be forwarded to my E-mail address: bill.wolodarsky@opg.com.

Thanks
