Re DU source and Gulf Illness

April 10

The so-called Gulf War illness (or syndrome) has showed up after ever U.

S. war since at least the Civil War, with the apparent exception of the

Spanish-American War.

See Kenneth C. Hyams, MD, MPH; F. Stephen Wignall, MD; and Robert Roswell,

MD; Annals of Internal Medicine, 125:398-405; Sept. 1, 1996. Title of

their paper is: "War Syndromes and their Evaluation: From the U.S. Civil

War to the Persian Gulf War". The authors conducted a vast literature

search -- they list 131 references.
