SCCHPS/SDCHPS Meeting on May 1, 2003

Ladies and Gentlemen,



The combined meeting of the Southern California and

the San Diego Chapters of the Health Physics Society

is scheduled for May 1, 2003 at the UC Irvine

University Club library.



Our speaker will be Dr. Kenneth Kase, the

President-Elect of the Health Physics Society.



The title of Dr. Kase's chapter talk is, "Health

Physics Society Strategic Plan and Important

Initiatives". 



He will give an overview of how the Society's program

relates to the Strategic Plan and focus on a few

current initiatives that are very important,

especially from the perspective of member and chapter

involvement, such as the Congressional and Federal

Agency Program and the Workforce Needs Initiative.



At our request, Dr. Kase will also include a short

discussion of his perception of the challenges in

medical health physics, especially in CT, PET,

Interventional Radiology and IMRT. 



The dinner choices are:



1. Chicken Loera - Boneless breast of chicken gently

sautéed and laced with chef Loera's Signature Sauce; a

blend of fresh cream, white wine, lemon, basil &

spices.



2. London Broil Bourguignonne - Tender slices of

Choice Sirloin layered and enhances with Burgundy

Mushroom Demi-Glaze.



3. Traditional Oven-Baked Vegetable Lasagna - Served

with garlic bread.



The cost for the dinner meeting is $35/person, payable

with a check at the door. Parking is free. There will

be a cash bar available.

the dinner choice by end of the day Friday, April 25.



The tentative schedule is as follows:



Social Hour: 			6:00 – 7:00 PM

Dinner & Dr. Kase’s talk: 	7:00 – 9:00 PM
