Re: Kr-85 -> ionization -> oxidants -> acid rain??

    On his native planet of Krypton (so named because its atmosphere

consists of

~80% Krypton and 20% Oxygen) Kr is not inert and actually serves as a

necessary metabolite. Its isotope, Kr-85 is what imparts extraordinary

hormetic powers .

    The mineral Kryptonite [PbAuKrO] adsorbs Kr-85, and transmutes it to

Sr-90 (by capturing 2 and 1/2 alpha particles), which is then transferred it

to the teeth of human babies who reside in the vicinity of nuclear power

plants. I hope this makes it all clear to you.
