You have been an excellent moderator for x-years. You have cooled us down.

You have put us back to "RADSAFE". Your merits are difficult to evaluate.

Therefore I would like to thank you for your function of "moderator", which

in nuclear physics also means, that fast neutrons are slowed down to

moderate ones and even to cool ones (which seem to be only of use for

research....). Even more I appreciate your willingness to moderate harsh

controversies down to a comprimise which gave both views a useful part in

it.

So I hope you are prepared for the next controversy!

We should all be reminded to keep radsafe discussions on topic. We should

also be reminded in these turbulent times to not respond suddenly and

emotionally on-line to any posting. It is particularly when I feel emotional

about a posting that I go home, sleep on it, and prepare a response the next

morning. Before responding, one may check with the poster (OFF line) to see

what the intent was, and one may always contact me for intervention if it is

thought relevant.



Maury's post about a possible change in the head of the IAEA was relevant.

The earlier part appeared to me to be the root from which information was

gained that led to this demand for the resignation of this person. Certainly

anything related to nuclear weapons or WMDs involving RAM (which the IAEA

has been involved in) is on topic. I did not interpret Maury's message as

political, and Franz's outburst was not appropriate. There are hundreds of

forums where anyone can debate the war, politics, and related matters.

Please take further responses in this vein off-line. Reasoned discussions

about the leadership of the IAEA certainly may continue. Thanks.
