I'm usually immune to your blogs, but I feel compelled to add something.
I suggest to obtain and read a book entitled "Saddam's Bombmaker". In it you
will find many troubling stories about the IAEA. In fact, when the author
finally escaped IRAQ and tried to find safe haven, he contacted the IAEA,
who advised the bomb-maker to go home and go back to work.
You may find it to be interesting, non-political, factual reading.

Within the IAEA there have been a lot of (very good) arguments of replacing
this person already last time, when the re-election was on topic. Today
there is not any reason to do that, just the contrary, he has acted
extremely well during the last months, representing the interest of the
member states and not the one of a single nation, which has refused
cooperation in many kind during the last years. It should be known, that the
IAEA is a democratic body, where the head is elected by the member states
and not assigned by "Washington"!!!!

Hussein.

It is not the task of "Washington" or a "DEBKA" to produce candidates.
Somebody put forward by them would be very well advised to refuse to be a
candidate.

Michael, the message was a mere political one, distributing rumors and
nonsense in order to downplay the integrity of the IAEA. I would really ask
you to prohibit similar political distributions of one or the other
hardliner. RADSAFE should not be used to distribute rumors, especially not
ridiculous ones, which only are created or distributed by people of a
certain wing.
I was always of the opinion, that RADSAFE was not a medium for distribution
of national and political opinions unless radiation protection was involved!
