RE: New Florida security system scans semi-trucks

The dogs are used to scent-out produce. As Jim Hardeman says, yes, dogs can be quite well trained to detect explosives.

US Department of Agriculture uses dogs (primarily) Beagles at air and sea ports to detect illegally imported fruits and vegetables.

Does anyone know of any scientific evidence indicating that dogs can detect

explosives and/or radioactivity in luggage? I have heard that they do not

actually have this ability, but as long as the bad guys think they do, use

	of dogs can be effective.
