RE: First atomic bomb - 58 years ago today



>From a strateic standpoint, cities are military

targets.  They are the focus of industial production

and transportation hubs.  Also, with large civilian

casualties, a nation's war-production capabilities is

reduced.



I believe the Arthur "Bomber" Harris, who ran he

British stategic bombing campaign, was the only

British general who did not get the Victoria Cross at

the end of WWII.
