RE: OUTAGE TRACED TO DIM BULB
Alas, the last bastion of civilization (Long Island) is slowly but surely doing away with any and all forms of gainful employment for the atomically inclined. Soon, any dreams I might have had of returning to that sweet hummock in the sea will be dashed on the proverbial rocks. It's not that I couldn't find work inland and commute.......I just wouldn't be able to pay my electric bill. What IS the cost per kilowatt hour out there these days?

Floyd,
I believe that you will find information in the
Radsafe achives, for example
http://www.vanderbilt.edu/radsafe/9709/msg00429.html
you will find the sad tale of the closure of the High
Flux Beam Reactor (HFBR) at BNL due to a tritium in
the ground water.
The problem is they called it a "reactor" instead of a
"neutral particle generator." A bit wordy, but it is
technically true.
